You won't want to miss our spring concert 'Bright Shining as the Sun' on Saturday May 2, 7 pm at Stella Maris Church in Saint John. This stunning program of gorgeous choral music will be performed by the combined 53-voices of the Saint John Men's Chorus and the auditioned women's choir Cantores Celestes Maritimes, both led by Artistic Director, Kelly Galbraith. These highly trained choristers will sing music from all eras that will captivate and inspire. They will be joined by the Cantores Celestes String Trio, timpanist Ian Gibson, clarinetists Daniel Zhao & David Sooley, and our fabulous collaborative accompanists, Emily Shute and Dr. Kevin Langford.
The concert will feature the delightful 'Sparrow Mass' by Mozart, and wonderful music by Morricone, Victoria, John Rutter, and Canadian composers Anne Lindsay, Stephen Hatfield, Matthew Emery, Mark Sirett, and David MacIntyre. There are exciting arrangements of 'Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal', 'Down to the River to Pray', 'Will the Circle be Unbroken' and 'Red Wing Blackbird'.
A $500 donation will be given to Avenue B Harm Reduction Inc. This organization saves lives by meeting people where they are and providing non-judgmental support to reduce the risks associated with substance use and other behaviours.
