JOYOUS LIGHT A Canadian Choral Celebration

Cantores Celestes releases their 7th CD in time to celebrate their 30th Anniversary year. It is ALL Canadian and features some of the best awarding winning musicians in the country: Anne Lindsay, Tony Quarrington, Joel Quarrington, Stephen Tam,  Jordan O'Connor and Kate Carver.  Cantores Celestes commissioned 5 of the pieces without grants of any kind. (2 by Tony Quarrington, 2 by Anne Lindsay and 1 by Clifford Ford.)  The music will make you happy and be the sound track for your day. The fiddle soars.  The double bass grooves as the guitar and piano support the magnificent voices of Cantores Celestes.  There is trumpet, flute, organ, mandolin and harmonica.  There are love songs and odes to the sea.  And there is a tune called Hauntings based on a scary tale from New Brunswick.  This recording promises to be a highlight in your collection.

WOMEN OF LIGHT - Featuring the best choral music ever written for womens' choirs. RELEASED April 18, 2009 celebrating our 20TH ANNIVERSARY. 'Women of Light'. is for people who like classical music and beautiful singing.  There is music by Rossini, Verdi, Poulenc and a world premiere by Canadian Ramona Luengen, as well as Canadian classics like Log Driver's waltz and Wood River.

WAKE UP IN THE MOONLIGHT SINGING  - Featuring Cantores Celestes at their very best, singing music that is near and dear to them.  There are chants from Eastern Europe that are over 800 years old and chants that reflect the spirit of Africa - music for reflection and celebration!

THE CIRCLE NEVER ENDS - A bluegrass Christmas album?  Why not?  I have been listening to this joyous collection since the summer, and it never fails to please with the robust singing and talented musicians.  Kelly Galbraith leads the Cantores Celestes Women's Choir from Toronto, accompanied by The Foggy Hogtown Boys in spirited performances of everything from "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" to traditional Christmas favourites like "Mary's Little Boy Child".  Spend some time with this disc this season and you'll likely be listening to it all year long!
